THE VISION

To create a world-class hub that transforms South Macon and other chronically stressed

communities by restoring hope, strengthening families, developing workforce

opportunities, and empowering lasting change.

VISION 2030

Current Challenges Facing Macon

Large numbers of justice-impacted men and women—including those returning from

incarceration, probation, and parole—are reintegrating into Macon and Middle Georgia

every day.

The rate of incarceration and felony records is alarmingly high, with nearly 10% of the

population carrying some form of felony record.

Many returning citizens face overwhelming barriers, including:

  • Job training
  • Counseling and mental health support
  • Employment opportunities
  • Transportation
  • Birth certificates and identification documents
  • Housing and other essential services

Without support, these challenges often lead individuals back into the cycle of

incarceration and instability.

Macon continues to experience crime rates well above the national

average due to several contributing factors:

  • Median household income is significantly below the national average.
  • Employment rates lag behind national averages.
  • Poverty rates remain substantially higher than the national average.
  • The percentage of adults without a high school diploma or GED is dramatically higher
  • than the national average.

All of these conditions contribute to deeper issues within our communities, including:

  • Family trauma
  • Unstable neighborhoods, particularly in South Macon
  • Hopelessness and generational complacency

We believe no community should be forgotten, ignored, or left to fade away.

Redefining Purpose

As Christians, we are called to meet people at their greatest need—Jesus Christ—while also addressing the economic, mental, emotional, and physical challenges they face every day.

The men and women living in these communities, including those returning from

incarceration, have tremendous value and untapped potential. They are not problems to manage; they are people created with purpose, gifts, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society.

A Workforce Opportunity

Over the next decade, Macon—and much of the nation—stands to lose a significant portion of its skilled workforce through retirement, without enough workers prepared to replace them.

Industries Urgently Need

  • Plumbers
  • Electricians
  • Welders
  • Carpenters
  • Truck drivers
  • Skilled laborers and tradespeople

Willing Employers

Many employers are now willing to hire men and women with criminal records, but these individuals need support, training, mentorship, and opportunity to succeed.

A Community of Opportunities

Rehabilitated men and women need a community willing to invest in them and demonstrate the love, compassion,

and restoration of Jesus Christ.
